Maasai Mara Game Reserve is all about rolling grasslands, open Savannah, breathtaking hills, cultured locals and so much more. Named after the Maasai people and the Mara River, Maasai Mara is the most famous reserve in the world.
Every year, between July and November, the Mara plays host to The Greatest Wildebeest Migration, where vast herds of wildebeest plunge across the Mara River on their quest for greener pastures. This breathtaking scene is the eighth wonder of the world and for a good reason. At least once or twice in your lifetime you should be a witness this amazing spectacle where the wildebeests brave the looming danger in the name of crocodiles in search of new pastures. Th Mara is also home to Africa’s Big Five-Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino- and a host of other wild animals, including Zebras, Gazelles and Giraffes.
