Overview

Imagine watching dust-red elephants wallow, roll and spray each other with the blue waters of Galana River. This amazing spectacle is only found in Tsavo East National Park, boasting 300km long Yatta Plateau. Tsavo East is also home to Rhinos, Buffalos, Lions, Leopards, Crocodiles, Waterbucks, Lesser Kudu and Generuk.

And because Tsavo East is a gift that keeps giving, other attractions such as the Mudanda Rock, Aruba Dam and the Lugards Falls are all available for you to marvel at. Whatever you do, make sure you visit Tsavo East at least once in your lifetime.

How To Get There

By road – The park has 3 gates, Mtito Andei gate is 233km south of Nairobi and 250km north of Mombasa on the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway. From Mombasa there is a voi main gate 153km of Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
From Malindi take the western road (103) and enter the park via Sala gate.

By Air – Tsavo East National Park has several Airstrips:

Vio, Aruba, Satao, Sala, Ithumba, Sangayaya, Mopeo, Bachuma and Cattar.
